EXHIBITION AT GALERIE THEOBALD'S BOOTHUISJE IN OOSTENDE

Theobald's Boathouse, one of the narrowest buildings in Oostende, had been a bar for years. It is an art deco construction with the balcony shaped in the bow of a boat that was designed by the architect Theobald Van Hille.
Therefor it got the name Theobald's Boathouse.

Leo Kuipers, the sympathetic Dutchman, fell in love with the house and purchased it some years ago. He saved it from demolition and prevented the destruction of the heritage in Oostende. Leo now exploits an arts gallery in the boathouse. So the crowd came out to celebrate the opening of the gallery and thank Leo for saving this unique piece of architecture.
